Not every custom epoxy table works on the first try. In this case, the client found the resin layout is different and the finish too glossy.
We listened, adjusted the table. Here's how we turned dissatisfaction into delight – and what that means for your custom order.

Vibrant Blue-Green Epoxy "River": The epoxy river combines an ombré teal-to-aqua gradient, creating the look of a tropical lagoon with realistic depth and movement.
-
Surface Finish & Detailing: True to the customer's preference, the tabletop has been finished with a perfectly smooth, high-gloss coating.
- Base & Leg Style: The table is supported by modern metal legs, likely featuring a sleek chrome or stainless steel finish.

Initial finished product

Aspects the client was dissatisfied with
- LAYOUT-After comparing the finished table to the approved design drawings, the client noticed that a few very small gaps were not filled with resin as originally specified.
-
RESIN COLOR-The client felt that the resin in the finished piece appeared a bit too bold and vibrant, with more movement and swirling than they had envisioned.
- SURFACE FINISHING-The client would have preferred a completely matte finish for the final surface.

Overall Table Layout and Edge Details
The main concern of the customer relates to some of the small gaps and resin details along the edges of the table, which you feel differ from the original design rendering.

Because resin is a highly viscous material, when it flows into very narrow spaces or natural crevices in the wood, those areas can sometimes appear darker or even nearly black unless viewed up close. At the same time, resin naturally interacts with light in different ways, allowing us to customize its overall appearance and achieve a look that is very close to the approved design—typically up to about 90% similarity.
It's also important to keep in mind that every slab of wood is naturally unique, with its own grain patterns, character, and aging features. As a result, no two tables can ever be exactly alike.
-
Resin Color and Pearl Effect
The customer felt the resin appeared brighter than expected and that the pearlescent swirling effect was more noticeable than anticipated.
One factor that can significantly affect the appearance of the resin is the final finish applied to the tabletop. A gloss finish tends to enhance depth, brightness, and light reflection, making the resin appear more vibrant and luminous. A matte finish, on the other hand, creates a softer, more muted appearance with a subtle textured or frosted look.
This also ties into the third concern the customer mentioned, as the choice of finish plays an important role in the overall visual effect of the table.
